Samantha is a Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist having completed the PG. Dip. In Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy at Derby University in 2011.
Diploma in nursing studies (Mental Health) Sheffield University 1997.
MBCT training Oxford Mindfulness Centre in Collaboration with Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust and receives on-going supervision.
Completed the Dialectical Behaviour Therapy intensive Training in 2006 with the British Isles DBT Training.
Team and set up a DBT service as part of Partnerships in Care in Nottingham.
EMDR parts I, II & III with Sandi Richman.
Completed Training in Compassion Focused Therapy and Advanced Training as well as previously being supervised by Paul Gilbert OBE.
Teaching
Presented as part of a team for the BABCP East Midlands at the Institute for Mental Health, Nottingham University alongside Anne garland and Richard Moore to BABCP Professionals.
Teaching Mental Health Professionals on the Compassion Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy Module as part of the University of Nottingham.
Co-Author of ‘Working with Compassion’ (Pavillion Publishing) and soon to be published ‘Making Sense of Depression’.
Research
Involved as a clinician in the CLAHRC-NDL (Collaboration for Leadership in Applied Health Research and Care: Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Lincolnshire) which is a 5 year RCT comparing a specialised depression service with treatment as usual for clients with chronic and treatment resistant depression.

Acute Mental Health and eating disorder unit.
Forensic Services both low and medium secure.
Specialist eating disorder and addictions unit.
Worked with women with personality disorders, deliberate self harm, eating disorders and Munchausen by Proxy with complex trauma.
Secondary care CBT Group programme in a mood disorder service.
Have also run a number of MBSR groups to the general public.
Worked as a CBT therapist in care homes with looked after children.
Interests
Samantha enjoys walking with her dog, reading, socialising, meditating and swimming.
